My First Zwischenzug (Move 20)

Your example is not zwischenzug. A zwischenzug is a move where you do something in between gaining material. For example giving a check before picking up a loose pawn with another piece.

Here is an old game with some nice zwischenzugs at the end to illustrate what one is.

Moves 27, 28, and 29 ... Morphy could have taken the rook winning an exchange here. on any of these moves. However he danced his queen around that exposed king a little before taking more material, letting that fruit get ripe before he picked it... It was so effective it encouraged his opponent to resign.

this is the meaning of Zwischenzug :
(a German word for between move or intermediate move) refers to a tactic where the player postpones an anticipated move in order to make a forcing intermediate move (the 'zwischenzug'), which results in the anticipated move being stronger when executed. (from chesstempo)

this is the example

If it's not zwischenzug, then what is it (supposing my opponent hadn't responded in a way that gave me a checkmate)?
I agree with @Drawish_Giri what if its not checkmate? And what if you want to make your opponent get under more pressure/stress? LOL
@isargon Mind explaining the term? I can't find that term anywhere. All the google results auto translate to something along the lines of "a game of chess between Matt and [insert name]"
Before taking the queen white delivers Zwischenmatt (in-between mate). ;)

(You'll hear this expression in some beery post-mortems in Germany).
