Out of all 8 variants in lichess; and 6-7 time controls present; only Atomik has a flair of its own. does it have anything to do with some of devs being retired atomic players or there is another reason beneath?
and also why don't atomic flair look like the atomic variant game symbol it shows in game much?

I think it is just the "standard" atom emoji you can use anywhere else on the web as well.

emojipedia.org/atom-symbolprobably you are right; as you also have some koth-ish emoji that is from default ones. but what about actually adding variant emojis?
github.com/lichess-org/lifat/pull/9One of the cool things with open source, is that developers can add new features, but not worry about making all the artwork ahead of time. Instead they make it easy to contribute. For flairs, anyone can add new flairs by following
