I think it's better this way.
me to. i agree with @Alramech and @LucaSalas. i think it's better this way. also, i know like 50 people that have multiple accounts.
OP probably used multiple accounts to troll this thread, and therefore got banned.
There are also some streamers that I have seen where they play with multiple accounts. I wouldn't be surprised if titled players have them. I'm pretty sure I have seen a couple well-known streamers/titled players with multiple accounts (unless they legitimately changed their username if that's allowed).
@14
Magnus carlsen is an example. I'm pretty sure theres no problem creating multiple accounts, as long as you have a legitimate reason and get the okay to do so

@Holo_the_wolf
i cannot wrap my head around the fact that people like you simply do not understand that lichess does not approve of multiple (usually non active and superflous) accounts.
Mangnus is a super GM. He streams and does participate in Titled Arenas. You are not a Super GM. You do not stream, you are not worldchampion and you do not participate in Titled Arenas. That's why your "pretty sure" is pretty wrong. i believe this is quite unambiguous:
@sedore exactly, you are not a popular streamer, you do not need multiple dead accounts

Should the switch be updated? - (because you're allowed to make multiple accounts as long as it's reasonable or allowed by lichess*)
examples
blindfold
I made a bot account (@thousandatom)
hidden names in the case of titled players
*Allowed by lichess: allowed doesn't mean "technically, you can still do it"

@StevenEmily yes the reasons you listed are valid, others are not
It really should say that if it's ok. It bothered me on other servers that titled players had different tournaments and rules for them.
If it states that you will not make multiple accounts, I feel like that should go for everybody.

Sorry, @LoremIpsum4-66920 , but you are completely wrong, as Thibault himself has stated this: lichess.org/forum/general-chess-discussion/are-alt-accounts-allowed#2
Where does it say I have to be a streamer? Where does it say I have to be a super GM?
Maybe you should do a little more research before you blow another gasket
edit: I dont own a second account, nor do i have any need for one. But you are wrong, and 30 seconds on google was enough to prove it
